Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how RD Motors, Inc. (“we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you visit reserve-roadster.us (the “Site”), send us a reservation request, or otherwise interact with us online. We are the business (or “controller”) responsible for that information.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Site. Questions are welcome at [email protected].
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Identifiers and contact details — first and last name, email address, phone number (optional) and ZIP code, when you submit the reservation form or email us.
- Vehicle preferences — the configuration you build (paint, wheels, calipers, interior) and its estimated price.
- Communications — anything you write in the message field or send us by email, and your marketing preference.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page and the date and time of your visit, recorded in standard server logs by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
- Consent record — your cookie and privacy choices, stored in your browser’s local storage (see our Cookie Policy).
- Analytics data — only if you opt in, aggregated information about pages viewed and how the Site is used.
Information we do not collect
We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, driver’s licence numbers, financial account or payment card details, precise geolocation, biometric information or other sensitive personal information through the Site. Please do not send it to us. No payment is processed through the Site.
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- respond to your reservation request, confirm your build and arrange a refundable deposit with you directly;
- communicate with you about your reservation, delivery timing, drive events and service matters;
- send news and invitations, but only if you opted in — you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email;
- operate, secure, debug and improve the Site, and prevent spam, fraud and abuse;
- understand aggregated Site usage, if you consented to analytics;
- comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms of Use and protect our rights and the rights of others.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you.
Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering into one (handling your reservation); consent (marketing emails, analytics and any non-essential cookies — you may withdraw it at any time); legitimate interests (keeping the Site secure, preventing fraud and improving our services, balanced against your rights); and legal obligation (record-keeping and responding to lawful requests).
How we share information
We share personal information only as described here:
- Service providers who act on our behalf under written contracts that restrict their use of the data — for example website hosting, email delivery, customer relationship management and IT security.
- Authorized dealers or delivery partners who handle your reservation, test drive or delivery in your area, if you ask us to proceed with your reservation.
- Legal and safety — when required by law, subpoena or court order, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of us, our customers or others.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.
- With your consent — for any other purpose you agree to.
Cookies and similar technologies
The Site uses only strictly necessary browser storage by default. Optional analytics or marketing technologies stay switched off unless you opt in through the cookie banner or “Cookie settings” link. Our fonts are hosted on our own servers, so loading a page does not send your data to a font provider. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
Global Privacy Control. We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for that browser. Do Not Track. Because there is no common industry standard for “Do Not Track” signals, we respond to GPC instead.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above:
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Reservation requests that do not proceed | Up to 24 months after our last contact with you, then deleted |
| Active reservations and purchase records | For the life of the reservation or contract, plus the period required by tax, consumer-protection and vehicle-safety laws |
| Marketing preferences | Until you unsubscribe; we keep a suppression record so we do not email you again |
| Server logs | Up to 90 days, unless needed to investigate a security incident |
| Consent record in your browser | 12 months, or until you clear your browser storage |
How we protect information
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls limited to staff who need the data, and vetted service providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and regulators as required by law.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live — including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Virginia and other US states with consumer privacy laws, as well as the EEA, UK and Switzerland — you may have the right to:
- Know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you, the sources, the purposes and the categories of recipients;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions;
- Portability — receive a copy in a portable, machine-readable format;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, targeted advertising and profiling (we do none of these today);
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect it through the Site);
- Withdraw consent at any time, and in the EEA/UK, object to or restrict certain processing;
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights. We will not deny you service, charge a different price or give you a lower quality of service because you made a request.
How to make a request
Email [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy request”, or call +1 (000) 000-0000. Tell us which right you want to exercise and the email address you used with us. You can also use our Your Privacy Choices page.
Verification and authorized agents
To protect your information, we will verify your request by matching information you provide with what we hold — usually by confirming your email address. You may use an authorized agent; we will ask for signed permission from you and may ask you to confirm your identity directly. We respond within 45 days (or one month in the EEA/UK) and will tell you if we need more time, as the law allows.
Appeals
If we decline your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision with the subject line “Privacy appeal”. We will respond in writing within 60 days. If you are not satisfied, you may contact your state Attorney General or, in the EEA/UK, your local data protection authority.
Notice for California residents
This section supplements the policy above for California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA”). In the past 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information:

We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by the CCPA through the Site, and we have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing personal information of consumers under 16. Shine the Light: we do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct-marketing purposes. California residents may request information about such disclosures at [email protected].
Notice of financial incentive: we do not offer financial incentives in exchange for personal information. The refundable reservation deposit is a reservation mechanism, not an incentive tied to your data.
Nevada residents
We do not sell covered information as defined by Nevada law. You may still submit an opt-out request to [email protected] and we will record it.
Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16, and the reservation form is only for people aged 18 or older. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
Marketing communications
We send marketing emails only if you tick the opt-in box or ask us to. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link and our postal address, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act. We will not send marketing text messages or make automated marketing calls without your prior express written consent. Transactional messages about an active reservation are not marketing and may still be sent after you unsubscribe.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process data in the United States or other countries. When we transfer personal information from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where a provider is certified.
Third-party links
The Site may link to websites or services we do not control. Their privacy practices are their own, and we encourage you to read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, if the changes are material, notify you by email or by a notice on the Site before they take effect.
